Philanthropy

Through his work at Cornerstone Foundation as a director and co-founder, he has coordinated interventions in Jos plateau state which include support for over 300 widows, adopted 4 orphanages through the “adopt an orphanage programme” , intervened for victims of flood disasters and other forcibly displaced groups, provided support for over 100 people with disabilities, and sponsored 150 young men and women to learn vocational skills.  He has also supported and initiated the sports for peace interventions reaching over 5000 youths directly and indirectly, which have run for 15 years in football and basketball in direct response to the spate of communal clashes and violent conflict in the state.

Professionally, Dr. Ubon has worked in several international agencies including the German Development Commission (GIZ), the World Bank, UN Women peace and security project, and led the Monitoring and Evaluation knowledge management and learning  of the  North East Development Commission – North East Reconstruction and Stability Programme in Northern Nigeria ( including the World Bank Multi -sectoral Crisis Recovery project). This included M and E responsibility for over 1 billion dollars in grants and loans from multiple MDBs and development agencies for the reconstruction of North East Nigeria from the ravages of the Boko Haram insurgency.
